The jobs report from the Bureau of Labor Statistics showed 428,000 new jobs added to the economy in April, outpacing predictions by economists for 391,000 new jobs, cited by CNN Business.

Inequality persists within these numbers, though, with unemployment among Black workers (5.9 percent) nearly double that among White workers (3.2 percent). Economists like Dr. Rakeen Mabud say this is the perfect signal to recommit to investments in workers, families, and small buinesses that are at the center of this success.
