Housing supply and rehabilitation is a recognized need in Trumbull County, but stakeholders recognize other needs as well.

Cleanup of the gasification plant property the city owns is one of the asks.

Still, the Trumbull County Land Bank is asking for $1 million for emergency home repairs. The average cost of these is $10,000 per homeowner and each project would be capped at $15,000.

“We saw the wait list for this type of assistance grow three to four times over the pandemic,” said Shawn Carvin, director of the Trumbull County Land Bank.

Other requests have come from the police department, parks, and sidewalk projects.
