Colorado Democrats celebrated a recent announcement that $121 million to go toward Colorado water line repairs.
The funding, in addition to supporting access to clean drinking water across the state, will It will be used to prevent flooding, collect and treat wastewater and safeguard vital waterways.
The funds will be awarded through the Drinking Water and Clean Water State Revolving Funds. Over $50 billion of the Infrastructure, Investments, and Jobs Act (IIJA) funding is being allocated toward water infrastructure across the US.
Colorado Senator John Hickenlooper was one of the lawmakers who developed the IIJA which was passed in late 2021.
