Workers harmed by information sharing to suppress compensation will be paid $84 million in restitution from Sanderson Farms, Wayne Farms, and Cargill.
“These poultry processors stifled competition and harmed a generation of plant workers who face demanding and sometimes dangerous conditions to earn a living,” said Doha Mekki of the Justice Department’s Antitrust Division.
The Justice Department has pursued several other antitrust suits this year and the Biden Administration has made anti-competitive practices a priority agenda item.
