The Infrastructure, Investments, and Jobs Act (IIJA) is funding $6.8 million dollars in wildfire protection efforts to cover 49,039 acres of land across the state of Oregon, announced Senators Merkley and Wyden.
In the West, wildfires seasons are growing hotter and longer due to climate change. Proactively investing in resilient forests both protects communities who are at risk of wildfire devastation, as well as communities across the country impacted by hazardous air quality when wildfires are out of control.
