Wisconsin, Michigan, and Massachusetts will receive $435 Million combined from the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds to increase access to high-speed internet in rural, Tribal, and low-income communities.
This latest high-speed internet project approval means 91,000 more homes and businesses will have better access to affordable internet.
Under the  Coronavirus Capital Projects Fund (CPF), $10 billion is funding capital projects to ensure people can continue to work, receive high quality education, and healthcare. Many communities are leveraging this funding State and Local Fiscal Recovery Funds to meet the Biden-Harris administration’s internet connectivity goals.
The US Treasury reports, “To further lower costs, President Biden and Vice President Harris announced the Administration had secured commitments from 20 leading internet service providers—covering more than 80% of the U.S. population—to offer all ACP-eligible households high-speed, high-quality internet plans for no more than $30 per month. As a result, ACP-eligible households can receive internet access at no cost.”
