An Initiative for Unsheltered and Rural Homelessness was announced on June 22, 2022, a first of it’s kind set of resources with a set-aside specifically for addressing the issue in rural communities.
“Access to a safe place to call home is essential to health and well-being,” said Department of Health and Human Services Secretary Xavier Becerra.
The Initiative includes $322 million for Continua of Care grants, with $54.5 million of this set aside for rural communities.
Another $43 million will fund about 4,000 incremental vouchers.
