Becky Dryburgh, Director of the Trinity Children’s Center in Crow Wing County, Minnesota, shared “extreme gratitude” for a grant through the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA).
The grant enabled the opening of 200 additional child care slots in the county among 25 organizations expanding existing childcare programs or starting new ones.
Childcare has been in crisis for years, and the pandemic has pushed it beyond the breaking point. While nearly every other industry has recovered from pandemic job losses, childcare is still missing over 100,000 workers who left during the pandemic and never returned.
Childcare is what keeps our economy running. Investments like the grant received by Crow Wing County will keep rural America running, too.
