As rural health systems are buckling under long-standing systemic pressures, the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) is continuing to infuse investments to shore up resilience in rural healthcare, like the $1.8 Million recently announced for Minnesota’s rural health.
An elder care facility in the city of Albert Lea is one of the beneficiaries, receiving $364,700 to cover lost revenue from COVID-19 closures.
The ARPA dollars are coming through the existing Rural Development Community Facilities Program, one of many USDA programs up for reconsideration in the 2023 Farm Bill.
