Butler County, Ohio Seeks Updates to ARPA Project Costs

Due to inflation, Butler County, Ohio has seen a 48% increase in costs for originally proposed projects for the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funding it was allocated.

The County has requested updates to the expense requests from 11 governments and organizations which have requested portions of the county’s $75 million allocation.

Projects ranging from $520,526 for a dental van for Primary Health Solutions to Miami University’s $10 million ask for the College@Elm workforce development incubator are seeing the value of the original proposals go down as inflation cuts back on what the money can achieve.

Butler County stands to make massive infrastructure improvements with the ARPA funds, but the cost changes are creating disagreements.
